My practice explores musicality as a way of seeing. Through photography and painting, I work with fragments, palimpsests, and the beauty that can often be discovered through excavation.

The photographs I make are starting points — they act as traces. In the studio, I paint what I feel rather than what I can see. I layer materials, bury them, and return to the surface again and again, excavating until something unexpected begins to emerge. Meaning is not fixed. What matters to me is the action of painting which is a physical, responsive exchange with available materials. A kind of dance.

I am less concerned with narrative than with the ethereal and the sublime: moments of resonance and atmosphere.

The ongoing process of walking, photographing and painting is documented in the Studio Journal. Finished works, limited editions and available pieces can be viewed in the Shop.
