Original Painting: Caburn Triptych #4, 2026
Photographer • painter
My practice explores musicality as a way of seeing.
Through photography and painting, I like to explore fragments, palimpsests, and the beauty that can be discovered through excavation.
The photographs I make provide source material for the act of painting.
I don’t use photographs for reference. I paint what I feel rather than what I can see.
I enjoy layering materials, burying them, and then excavating surfaces until something unexpected emerges.
Rather than fix any meaning, I focus on the ‘action’ of painting, which is most often a dance with available materials.
Rather than narrative, I’m concerned with the ethereal and the sublime.
